    Lion Bill Prewitt (Lake City Lions Club) Honored: Lion Bill Prewitt was recently recognized by Lions Club International for 50 years of service. At the November club meeting, Lake City Lions Club President Bill Beatty presented Lion Prewitt with his certificate and 50 year chevron. During his 50 years Lion Prewitt has served the club as president on four occasions as well as other offices. He has also served as Zone Chairman for the district.     H & R Block Fundraiser back for second year: Again this year, H & R Block will participate with District 12-N Charities through donating $25 for each new client referred through the program. Using the form provided (click here) referred clients go to their nearest H & R Block office, submit the form, and get their taxes prepared. The program runs from January 1, 2009 through November 1, 2009. During the last year, about $350 was raised for District 12-N Charities through the program.

    North Knox Lions Club New Member Induction: Cappalini's Italian Restaurant was crowded at the November 5 meeting of the North Knox Club, where five new members were inducted! Congratulations to new Lions Patti Frost, Kathy Bryant, Karen Armsey, Denise Girard, and Angel Fields. PDG Ken Moffett, Knoxville Tri-County Lions Club, and his assistant, Melvin the Lion, conducted the ceremony.

    12-N Cabinet Meeting: DG Jim McFarland presided at the October 25 meeting. One of the highlights was the presentation of a Campaign SightFirst II Model Club patch to the West Knox Lions Club. Also, work is proceeding on having a Leo Club and Leo of the Year awarded; information should be given to Lion Larry Hawk. PDG John Kelsey, Membership Development Chair, urged clubs to name "Retention Chairs" in their clubs.

    Sullivan County Lions Club Chartered! DG Jim McFarland & PDG Bill Moore had the honors of inducting members and installing officers of the Sullivan County Lions Club October 24, 2008. Guest Speaker was PDG Dr. Diane Pitts. from Gaffney, South Carolina. Lion Tim Minton is President; Secretary, Cindy Hickman, and Treasurer, Eileen Hoornstra. Click here for more information.
